AL-INSHIQAQ (84)

The Rending

1. When the heaven is rent asunder,(1)
2. and it gives ear to its Lord, and it is so disposed.(2)
3. And when the earth is stretched out,(3)
4. and it casts forth what is in it and gets empty,(4)
5. and it gives ear to its Lord, and it is so disposed.(5)
6. O Man, thou art labouring to thy Lord laboriously, and then shalt meet Him.(6)
7. Then, as for him who is given his Book in his right hand(7)
8. he shall be reckoned an easy reckoning,(8)
9. and he shall return to his family joyfully.(9)
10. And as for him who is given his Book behind his back,(10)
11. he shall call for destruction,(11)
12. and he shall enter the Blaze.(12)
13. He was surely joyful in his family;(13)
14. he thought that he would never revert.(14)
15. No, his Lord was surely seeing him.(15)
16. But no, I swear by the glow of sunset,(16)
17. and the night and what it envelops,(17)
18. and the moon when it is at the full,(18)
19. you shall surely ride stage after stage.(19)
20. But what ails them, that they do not believe,(20)
21. and when the Qur'an is read to them, they do not fall in prostration?(21)
22. No, the unbelievers give lies;(22)
23. and God very well knows what they keep secret;(23)
24. so give them good news of a painful punishment,(24)
25. except those who believe and do righteous deeds; for them shall be a wage unfailing.(25)
